It All Started With…

It all started with the Front Runner Jeep. After seeing it at an outdoor show, I quickly fell in love with the Overland life. I even built my Jeep similarly to the silver Front Runner Jeep, where I took pictures of each design element from the rack to the pop-up tent to the Hi-Lift jack attachment. Three years later, I’ve taken my Jeep to the snow covered mountains of the Sierra Nevada to the arid deserts of Arizona. My Front Runner Slimline II rack has carried a 12ft canoe, my awesome pop-up tent and any other outdoor gear I can fit on it. I’ve had 5 adults in the Jeep, my pop-up tent & cargo on the rack without any problems. However, to put ease on my suspension, I added .75″ spacer to my 2.5″ lift.  Other than that, I love the versatility of my Slimline II Rack. There are so many attachments that I can switch-out, whether it’s camping, fishing or any other adventures.

Here are some examples:

Ever since opening the pages of National Geographic, watching Discovery Channel and seeing Indiana Jones - I automatically loved exploring the wild. It shaped me to become a marketeer (play on musketeer & marketer) with an internal compass for adventure.

Who is Calscadia?

The name Calscadia came from a portmanteau of the CAL from California where I reside and SCADIA for the Cascades, where I’m from originally as well as in reference to Cascade Locks where I adopted a beloved Bernese Mountain Dog. I started this website and social media as an outlet to talk about the adventures I take, the people I meet and the gear I abuse along the way. When I talk about gear, I’ll tell you what works, what doesn’t and why I came to that conclusion. I purchase my own gear, am not sponsored and won’t put ads on videos because I hate that as much as you do. I may get money from affiliate links but you’ll always know that in advance. Hopefully I’ll see you out there!
